Overview
- The Businesswomen's Association is currently the largest association of professional and businesswomen in South Africa with a Head Office in Johannesburg and eight branches across the country.

- Each branch is manned by a full time, employed coordinator who runs the branch in conjunction with a locally elected branch committee and branch chair.
History
The BWA was formed in 2000 as the result of the merger of 3 women's organisations:
- EWC (Executive Women's Club) The EWC started the Businesswoman of the Year Award, which is BWA's flagship event and has been running since 1980.
- NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners)
- PROWOLDO (Professional Women's Leadership Development Organisation)
