3. WELCOME

Patti welcomed all to the 2003 Annual General Meeting.

4. QUORUM

After establishing that a quorum was present, the meeting proceeded as follows:

5. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS AGM AND MATTERS ARISING

Minutes of the meeting held on 14th March 2002 were adopted on the proposal of Mary Wrench and seconded by Penny Vickers. There were no matters arising.

6. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT

Patti gave her Chairman's Report.

7. TREASURER'S REPORT

Patti advised that a copy of the audited accounts from the Johannesburg based accountants was not available on the day of East London's AGM, but should anyone wish to have a look at them at a later stage, to give their contact details to Di Oatley and as soon as the accounts are ready, she will forward the accounts onto them.

8. ELECTION OF NEW COMMITTEE

Nominations had been previously called for and nomination forms submitted. The following nominations were received and accepted:

  • Colleen Martin
  • Jill Fish
  • Carol Taggart

The following committee members would continue to serve for another year:

  • Mary Wrench - Chairlady
  • Penny Vickers - Vice Chairlady
  • Noeleen Barry - Treasurer
  • Di Oatley - Coordinator
  • Yoli Balfour
  • Pat McCarlie - Nedbank Champion

9. GENERAL

  • Patti Graham thanked her committee and gave special thanks to Meta Scott and Terry Cook whom have worked so well together over a very long period.
  • There being no further matters to discuss, Patti concluded the formal proceedings for the evening.
  • Mary Wrench, thanked Patti Graham for all that she has done for Businesswomen's Association and handed her an arrangement of flowers.

GUEST SPEAKER

Debi Godwin, owner of Independent Executor & Trust gave an informative speech on "Wills".

Snacks and refreshments were served and the meeting ended at 7.00pm.
