WELCOME

Mary Wrench welcomed all to the 2006 Annual General Meeting.

Quorum

After establishing that a quorum was present, the meeting proceeded.

Minutes of the previous AGM and matters arising

Minutes of the previous AGM were adopted on the proposal of Lizette Liesching and seconded by Colleen Martin.

Chair Report

Mary Wrench gave her Chair Report.

Treasurer's Report

Noeleen Barry gave her Treasurer's report and thanked BWA Committee for all the support and opportunity she had enjoyed in her term of office as Treasurer and wished the new treasurer, to be elected, all the best in 2006.

Election of the New Committee - 2006

Nominations had been previously called for and nomination forms submitted.
The nominations were received and accepted:

  • Bea Hackula - Transformation Africa
  • Melanie Obrig-Bruyns - Miz Models
  • Marcine Featherstone - Bush Bucks Soccer Club
  • Shirley Renwick - Financial Workshop

The following committee members would continue to serve for another year.

General

Mary Wrench thanked the 2005 Committee and welcomed the 2006 Committee and gave special thanks to Noeleen Barry, Jill Fish and Penny Whitfield for all the hard work they had put into BWA during their stay on the Committee, and they were each presented with a stunning bunch of flowers, in appreciation. There being no further business to discuss Mary concluded the formal proceedings.

Guest Speaker

Mary Wrench welcomed Mr Gaster Sharpley and his wife to a champagne breakfast where Mr Sharpley addressed the BWA on "Developments in Buffalo City", which will create business opportunities for all sectors of business.
