RE:
Invitation: WTO Consultative Conference
Kindly take note that
the eighth session of the World Trade Organisation Ministerial
Conference (MC8) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 15-17
December 2011.
The DTI is hosting a Consultative Conference
to prepare for this upcoming MC8 and has invited BUSA to be part
of the deliberations on the day. The agenda will include an
overview of the state of negotiations in main areas such as
NAMA, Agriculture, Rules, Services, Environment, IPR as well as
discussions surrounding the actual MC8 agenda i.e. New
approaches, new issues proposed by developed countries,
continued relevance of developmental agenda and will lastly deal
with likely decisions to be taken at MC8 such as:
- WTO
activities
- Non violation decisions
- E-Commerce
- LDC
package
- Accession by Russia
- New government procurement
agreement tabled
