Do you have what it take to represent this iconic brand?

Carducci Woman, a brand of distinct heritage and modern sophistication, launches The Face of Carducci Woman Competition. Designed to become an annual event, this exciting competition is set to uncover the woman who represents the spirit and the dynamism of the brand.

This is not a simple undertaking as the Face of Carducci is neither famous nor is she a model. According to Francois Rall, head designer at Carducci Woman she is a woman who represents our significant realities. “I don’t design around a fantasy; I design for a real woman, one who juggles modern life, travels between world cities brokering deals and still have families to care for. These are the women that inspire me; the women I relate to, these are the women I design for.” With this ethos it is clear that a simple casting will not suffice to uncover this special breed and so they have embarked on a nationwide search.

Partnering the search are Lion of Africa Insurance, who are a new breed of insurance company that is founded on the premise of transformation and providing insurance for all South Africans, Stuttafords, the leading department store as well as Elle Magazine, another iconic brand on the forefront of fashion in this country.

The competition is being run online at www.carducci.co.za and its progress can be followed on Facebook. The criteria for entry are simple:

  • Individuals need to be older than 24
  • They must not be represented by a model or casting agency
  • They must fill out the entry form online accompanied by a head and shoulder, profile and full length picture
  • They must be submitted before the 6 April 2010

The semi finalists will be selected by region from the online entries received in the middle of April. They will all receive a full make-over; with hair by Redken, make-up from Iman at Stuttafords and clothes by Carducci Woman. They will be professionally photographed for entry into the final round of the competition where they will be judged by a highly qualified panel of fashion expertise including Francois Rall, Jackie Burger and Leanne Manas.

From here the Face of Carducci will selected and covertly flown to Cape Town to be photographed by a leading fashion photographer for the Carducci Woman summer campaign shoot. She will be unveiled on the runway as the first face to open the Carducci Woman show to be held at Johannesburg Fashion Week at the end of June.

The winner will receive a Carducci Woman wardrobe valued at R 30 0000, comprehensive insurance for a full year,
R 30 000 worth of accessories from Stuttafords as well as subscription to Elle magazine. She will represent Carducci Woman at events and in the media for the duration of her reign. The event offers a life changing opportunity for one special woman to embrace and to really celebrate the wonder of being a real and remarkable woman.
