Associated Magazines to Publish BWA Magazine
The Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) has appointed Associated Magazines to publish the organisations’ bi-monthly BWA Magazine. This announcement marks Associated Magazines’ entry into the custom publishing market.
“Associated Magazines’ experience in creating inspirational consumer magazines for women will assist us in taking our current magazine to a new level and giving our members access to a more comprehensive business lifestyle read,” says Basetsana Kumalo, President of the BWA. “This is in line with our objectives to offer our members not just networking opportunities, but also leadership, training, support and inspiration.”
The BWA is the largest association of business and professional women in South Africa and represents the interest of those women who are committed to making concerted contributions to South Africa’s economic development through active participation within their specific fields of endeavour.
The organisation has built a reputation for itself based on its continued support of women hailing from all sectors of the economic gamut, as well as its reputation as a champion of women’s rights. The editorial team of BWA Magazine will be spearheaded by Associated Magazines chairman, Jane Raphaely.
“We are planning exciting changes for BWA Magazine,” says Jane Raphaely. “The title will become a real consumer magazine, reflecting the interests of a very special group of women. It will become a must-read from cover to cover and the content will have lasting value for its readers and a positive effect on their business and private lives.”
BWA Magazine is Associated Magazines first custom publishing title. “It’s a new venture for us, but not unknown territory,” says Julia Raphaely, managing director of Associated Magazines. “We know the women’s market and it’s a natural fit for us to publish BWA Magazine. Not only will BWA members benefit from a more up-to-date magazine, but subscribers to our own titles will also have access to this new business title which will help us to grow BWA’s membership”
The first issue of the new BWA Magazine will be available to BWA members in Winter 2009.
