Dear BWA Members,
The Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa
[BWASA] has a value offering for members in the form of
a Fortune 500/ State Mentorship Programme. The BWA will
nominate a candidate to participate in the Fortune
500/State Mentorship program which will take place next
year around April/May (to be confirmed).
The Programme
The
Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women’s Mentoring
Partnership connects talented, emerging women leaders
from all over the world with members of Fortune’s Most
Powerful Women Leaders for a month-long internship
program.
The program begins with an orientation
in Washington, D.C., where mentees meet with senior
women leaders in government, business, academic, civil
society and the media. Participants are then paired with
one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Leaders from
companies like Time Inc., Google, Inc., and Wal-Mart
Stores, Inc. in cities across the United States. At the
end of the mentorship, mentees reconvene in New York
City to collectively reflect on their experience and
discuss future leadership opportunities.
Application Process
Attached is the
background
information of the programme and also the
nomination
form to be filled by the candidate andthe nominating
organisation. Please pay special attention to the
sections for the candidate as these are the sections
that applicants must fill in. The nominating
organisation section must be left blank as this will be
filled in by the BWASA.
Candidates are also
requested to submit the following in a MS Word
document:-
- BWA Membership Number;
- Membership duration;
- Explanation on how the Member
will plough back what is learnt into the BWA;
Deadlines
The application deadline is
Monday the
5th of December 2011. Interviews will be held on Tuesday
the 6th of December 2011. Please send completed forms to
