Congratulations to the 2017 Regional Business Achiever Award (RBAA) Finalists

The Businesswomen's Assoication, Durban Branch brings you the Regional Business Achiever Awards (RBAA) 2017 Finalists. Honouring fifteen inspiring KwaZulu-Natal businesswomen, we celebrate women who are unafraid to use their power for business change, social impact and for contributing to the economy. Each finalist was selected by an independent panel after enduring a robust judging process which included a detailed interview session.

Winners will be announced at the extravagant Gala Dinner ceremony on Thursday, 29th June 2017 at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC). Click Here for event information. 

Professional Finalists
Debbie Cameron is the Owner of Debbie Cameron Physiotherapy, a developing group of practices in Durban. Debbie holds a post-graduate diploma in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy and opened her first practice in 2003. Debbie served as late past President Nelson Mandela’s physiotherapist for a year during his presidency and is determined to provide a professional service dedicated to assisting people suffering with injury, disease or a weak physical condition. 
Amina Randeree is the Founder and Resident Optometrist at Signature Eyecare. Signature Eyecare, founded in May 2015, is an optometry practice that offers visual examinations, spectacle and contact lens dispensing and referral letters to specialists. Amina is a healthcare practitioner involved in diagnosing, treating and referring for any eye/visual related conditions. Amina is a qualified optometrist and also holds a Masters in Business Administration. 
Lesa Bradshaw is a Founding Member and Managing Partner of Bradshaw Le Roux Consulting, a group of recruitment and assessment specialists and disability integration consultants. Bradshaw Le Roux offers strategic and operational support in terms of Disability Recruitment, Integration and Development. Lesa is a registered Psychometrist, holds an Honours in Psychology and an MBA and is one of the most recognised Disability Inclusion Specialists in South Africa.  
Government Finalists
Xoliswa Hlongwane is currently the Deputy Head within the eThekwini Municipality Audit and Risk Advisory Services Unit. Xoliswa has been with the Municipality since September 2014 and is a qualified Chartered Accountant by profession. Her role is to oversee the development and execution of a risk based internal audit plan and other ancillary activities within municipal entities, Economic Development Cluster as well as Transversal Audits.  Donnée Kruger is the Manager of the Regional Representative Office in Gauteng for Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal. Donnée holds a certificate in Business Management; a BSc in Dietetics; a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning and is currently enrolled for her PhD at Stellenbosch University. Her position entails international business development and lead generation, stakeholder management and destination marketing. 
Yolisa Ndima is the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Manager of National Development Agency (NDA). Yolisa’s role within the agency includes Operations Planning and Management; Grants; Financial, Stakeholder and Risk Management; Capacity Building and Research. Yolisa belongs to the Ethics Institute of South Africa; Institute of Directors Southern Africa (IoDSA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners South Africa (ACFESA).
Entrepreneur Finalists
Jasantha Naidoo is the Owner and Managing Director of Isoko Petroleum, a fuel wholesaling company providing Diesel and Petrol to fleet owners, carriers and manufacturing operators. Isoko Petroleum manages a diesel depot in the heart of the trucking and industrial area in Durban. Jasantha started at Isoko Petroleum in 2009 with the main goal to offer businesses fast, efficient service and quality diesel at the best price.  Nivershine Reshma Maharaj is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Golden Rewards and Heart Beat Training Academy. Golden Rewards manufactures and supplies prefabricated cabins and classrooms; low cost Wendy Houses; commercial jungle gyms and internal dry walling. Golden Rewards has been selected as a National Gazelles Finalist and has also been graded and registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).   Premi Subramany is the 100% shareholder and Managing Director of Chemsol Adhesives, founded in 1995. Chemsol Adhesives engages in the design, manufacture, supply and training of industrial chemicals such as solvents, adhesives, detergents, stains and dyes. Premi is a qualified Financial Accountant and a Chemical Technician and was awarded the ‘Golden Peacock Award’ from the Consulate General of India, by the Indian Academy of South Africa. 
Social Entrepreneur Finalists
Tanya Price-Carr is the Branch Manager of The Clothing Bank. The NPO was established in 2010 and has grown to 5 branches across South Africa inspiring, empowering and up-skilling unemployed mothers and fathers through a holistic learn and earn programme. In 2016 The Clothing Bank won The Schwab Foundation Award for The Best Social Enterprise Development Programme in the world, chosen out of 70 participating countries. Nonkululeko Xulu is the Founder and Director of The X Foundation, a Public Benefit Organisation offering educational bursaries to underprivileged youth of Umlazi. Since 2010, The X Foundation’s efforts have remained focused on giving each of their beneficiaries a stress-free, enjoyable and dignified schooling experience. The bursaries cover the school fees, uniform and stationery required by the student.  Joanne Teunissen has been a crisis parent for the Peace Agency for a year and a half. The Peace Agency exists as a platform for organisations who aid children and women to find and access the resources they require to run seamlessly and effectively. Joanne runs the Durban North Baby Home and is also involved with recruitment, training and relationship development for the Bright Stars mentorship Programme. 
Emerging Entrepreneur Finalists
Patricia Schrӧder is the Founder and Managing Director of Reclite SA (Pty) Ltd, an award-winning business with a niche offering of lighting, battery and electronic waste management. Reclite has a nationwide footprint with branches across three provinces. Patricia holds an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management. She is registered as a Chartered Environmental Manager and has more than thirty years’ experience in environmental protection and waste management.  Rishantha Chetty is the sole woner and director of Moksa Electrical Wholesalers. Moksa Electrical was established in 2016 with a core business function to supply both industrial and domestic electrical equipment as well as hardware and tools. Moksa Electrical has successfully established business relationships with the biggest manufacturers and suppliers in the industry. Rishantha holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UKZN in Marketing and Management. Natasha Rencken is the 100% shareholder and Director of Posh Events by design. Posh Events is a South African event enterprise specializing in transforming clients’ ideas into beautiful Posh realities. The company was purchased in March 2016 and took part in The Wedding EXPO 2016 where they were awarded with two stand excellence awards. Posh Events conceptualize, plan, set up, coordinate and strike in order to minimize stress for their clients.
