Connecting women around the countryWith seven regions spread across South Africa, the Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) focuses on connecting, empowering and inspiring women wherever they are.
Regional Business Achievers AwardsThe Regional Business Achievers Awards (RBAA) are a set of annual events aimed at celebrating the success of women in each BWA branch. With up to six categories (including emerging entrepreneur, entrepreneur, social entrepreneur, professional, corporate and government), the awards actively seek to identify, acknowledge and cultivate entrepreneurs, corporate and professional women leaders in the various regions. While nominees might not meet the requirements for the Businesswomen of the Year Awards (BWOYA) in terms of nominees’ budget expenditure control, the RBAA have afforded them an opportunity for recognition since 2001.

The RBAA also took the time to honour a business that is striving to empower women in their ranks, right down to grass root level, by introducing the BWASA Honorary Award to NPC a member of Intercement. It recently partnered with BWASA Durban, to host a skills development programme for the women in the company. Mpume Langa, Chairperson for the BWASA Durban branch shared, "It’s important that we acknowledge companies that are willing to be bold and are making a concerted effort towards empowering the women in their teams to embrace and step into their power”.

Antoinette has supported both branch and national efforts through channeled sponsorship, active engagement on panel discussions and as a meaningful contributor to the BWASA’s efforts to drive the gender empowerment dialogue. "It is always important to host these awards as they provide us, as the BWASA, with the opportunity to reflect and showcase to the business community the strides we are making as an organisation in women leading within KwaZulu Natal."
